The Geldards Public Law team provides legal advice to central government, to the devolved government in Wales and to over 25 local authorities in both England and Wales, together with may other public sector bodies especially in the regional development and cultural fields.
Our team includes former local authority lawyers’ well able to meet an ever increasing need for innovative legal advice to enable authorities to fulfil their community governance and best value aspirations.
The team has a diverse range of experience within it and can provide proactive advice and support to local authority clients on a wide array of issues such as equal pay, procurement, governance, property development and compulsory purchase and planning, whilst being constantly aware of the strategic political climate in which authorities operate and of the competing pressures that Councils have to balance.
We offer an efficient and effective, service, with a flexible, client focused approach to service delivery. We aim to support in-house legal advisors by providing cost effective and skilled resources that add value to the Council’s own services.
