Jon specialises in high-value complex commercial litigation conducted nationwide by or against major companies or organisations including publicly listed Clients. A graduate of Manchester and Strasbourg Universities, Jonathan regularly pursues or defends injunctions regarding the misuse of confidential information and trade secrets and resolves a broad range of commercial disputes through Mediation, Expert Determination and Arbitration.
Jon’s practice involves work across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, IT and retail. He is also a member of the Firm’s Automotive, Healthcare and Transport sector teams.
Jon prides himself on combining robust technical expertise with acute commercial awareness which is both results driven and cost-effective.
Clients consistently remark that Jon is “extremely professional” and has a “forthright approach..” which enables cases to be “aggressively pursued” when circumstances require it.
The Legal 500 2009 edition comments that Jon “particularly impresses”, with one Client saying that he “left no stone unturned in protecting our position”.

Mediating to settlement a £3m claim brought by one of the largest catering companies in the world against a major PLC.
Advising a substantial retailer in a £50m dispute over the termination of various distributorship agreements.
Acting in the defence of a major company in a multi-party £22m construction dispute.
Obtaining an injunction to restrain the mis-use of confidential information in connection with highly sensitive plans prepared for a missile defence system for the Swedish government.
Defending proceedings on behalf of a leading European manufacturer of laminates and plastics in an 8 million euros dispute for alleged breach of a sole & exclusive distributorship agreement,
Acting on behalf of a corporate events organiser in a major claim by and against one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction equipment.
Resolving a number of claims on behalf of major air & seafreight, office supplies, technology and motor retail sector clients in respect of allegations of breach of post-termination of employment restrictions.
Jon leads seminars and training sessions for clients on various issues particularly in the automotive sector. In his spare time Jonathan enjoys the classical guitar, watching football and playing tennis.
